My husband Alan and I just by chance found Roberta off the internet as we began our search to fulfill our dream to move to the mountains. We are both from Missouri, retired and ready to begin a new chapter. Roberta was diligent in sending listings that fit our needs. We made contact via internet with several other realtors and they weren't very personal in that they would send us listings that did not fit our criteria. As soon as we sold our house we made arrangements to come to Colorado and meet with Roberta and have her show us homes. The minute we met her, we knew it was going to be a wonderful relationship. We had to change the leader's in midstream, had trouble finding insurance on a log cabin and in each instance, Roberta went above and beyond to help us jump these hurdles. Fairplay, CO closed last Friday, 29 August after years of being on the market with no results. Roberta called my wife and I last year and told us that she would like the opportunity to sell our mountain cabin. At first, we were skeptical, mainly because of her distant Colorado Springs base location but after listening to her and how she was going to make our mountain home a memory, we decided to sign her contract-to-sell. Within an extremely short period, Roberta developed a plan, then, a beautiful, but very informative, sales flier, drove to Fairplay and placed her signs on our lot, and called and said that she was ready to sell! Quickly, complete confidence set in, on our part, that our decision to have her represent us was the right one. We also realized three other important points/issues that made Roberta's new listing of our property difficult; first, and most important, is that my wife and I are permanently located in Utah, making it somewhat difficult for Roberta to perform her tasks. Second, because our home was a Park Model and considered a trailer/RV, anyone who showed interest to this listing had to have "large pockets" as financing requirements fell into a special category (mainly called CASH). Lastly and maybe this should not be adressed but it IS something to realistically think about. What I am about to mention should have been a consideration and a decision that Roberta had to make as whether our property was even worth the time. Our Park Model was a very small and Roberta's financial gain after our closing would be minimal, in comparison to the larger, more expensive listings that she has. Regardless, Roberta treated us as if it was a mansion and stayed on top of all perspective customers, constantly keeping us informed of all possibilities. All things said and done, Roberta found that special person that was lookin for a special mountain home, in Fairplay Colorado of all places!
